AIFLN 2020

The International Special Section on Artificial Intelligence for Localization and Navigation (AIFNL 2020)

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a constellation of technologies that allows machines to sense, comprehend, act and learn in order to extend human capabilities. It is well known from computer science (CS) disciplines, achieved many successes in various fields, are beginning to emerge in the area of localization and navigation.

AI technologies helps to comprehensively capture and interpret situations and provides optimal estimations based on given data it has been trained on. Highly non-linear function approximate capture the relationships (e.g., the impact of moving objects or sensor noise on the quality of localization estimates) and find the correlations that are hidden in the data, which can improve the accuracy of localization. Even more. AI technology can be integrated into subsequent location services, such as AR/VR, 3D sense understand and so on.
